Turning... Or trimming. Some days I love this process more than throwing. Today is one of those days! Cutting these neat grooves is very satisfying and soothing... These will be filled with blue glaze after their first firing. 🔵

Fingernails... I used to have lovely fingernails and then I became a potter. I now have lovely toenails instead. I haven't done any throwing for a couple of weeks now and I know this by the length of my nails in this photo today... I'm missing the clay, so I'm sure some messy photos are on their way soon. I'm quite proud of this little jewellery box with a lid... Lids! Who knew how tricksy they were? (all potters knew)... I threw this shape as one piece and cut the lid away later. Inside is glazed blue and there are also little circles inside to sit your jewellery in. It's highly polished on the outside to feel pebble-smooth in the hand.
